The Canadian Army came into the war wearing service dress. The headress that was worn with it was a service dress cap similar to what was worn in the Great War. The main difference was that the cap was flatter in style but still had stiffners in the crown.

In 1943 The Canadian Army adopted a Khaki Beret which was meant to replace the FS cap.

Melton Winter Cap (Other Ranks)
Introduced at the beginning of the war the Winter Cap was worn only in Canada. It was not worn overseas.
